FAQs
Do I need to know how to pose?
Not at all.
Guiding you through the entire session is part of my role as your photographer. I’ll walk you through poses step by step, adjusting them based on what feels natural to you and what you want from your session—whether that’s soft and classic, bold and expressive, or something in between.
If there are images or ideas that resonate with you, you’re welcome to bring inspiration along. We’ll use it as a starting point and make it your own.
Do I need to lose weight before doing a boudoir session?
No.
Most of the women I photograph arrive with the same concern, and it’s completely understandable. My role is not to wait for you to change your body. It’s to work with the body you’re in now, thoughtfully and respectfully.
I guide posing, lighting, angles, and pacing in a way that supports your comfort and confidence. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is forced. The focus is on creating images that feel natural and honest to you, not on trying to make you look like someone else.
If weight loss is part of your personal journey, that’s your choice. It is not a requirement for this experience.
Do I need to do my own hair and makeup?
No. Your session includes professional hair and makeup at the studio.
Our makeup artist will work with you to create a look that feels like you—from natural and understated to more dramatic, depending on your comfort level and vision for the session. Hair styling is included as well.
This time is intentionally built into your experience so you can relax, settle in, and feel taken care of before stepping in front of the camera.
What should I bring to my session?
You don’t need to arrive with everything figured out.
I have a small selection of studio pieces and accessories available, but most importantly, I’ll guide you through what to bring based on your comfort level, and the overall feel you’re drawn to.
After booking, you’ll receive a detailed prep and wardrobe guide with suggestions, tips, and simple do’s and don’ts so you feel confident and prepared without feeling overwhelmed.
My goal is for you to walk into your session knowing exactly what to expect—and feeling supported every step of the way.
I don’t have much time. How long does this actually take?
This experience is designed to fit into real life, not add stress to it.
From start to finish, your session is planned thoughtfully so you’re not rushed and not left wondering what comes next. Most sessions take a few hours at the studio, including professional hair and makeup, time to settle in, and the photography itself.
You don’t need to prepare endlessly or block out full days leading up to it. I guide you through each step, from planning to wardrobe to posing, so your time is used intentionally and efficiently.
Many women tell me they almost didn’t book because they felt too busy. Afterward, they often say the session felt like time well spent, something just for them in the middle of everything else they manage.
I’m worried about the cost. What should I realistically expect to spend?
That’s an important question, and it’s something most clients think carefully about.
Sessions are booked as a complete experience. This includes the photography session and a handcrafted album, which is selected and paid for upfront. Working this way allows the session to be planned with intention and ensures that the final artwork is part of the process from the beginning, not an afterthought.
Album pricing is clearly outlined in advance, and we’ll talk through options during your consultation so you know exactly what to expect before booking. There are no surprise costs added later.
This approach allows you to arrive knowing the experience and artwork are already accounted for, so you can focus on the session itself.
Payment plans are available and can be arranged ahead of time, making it easier to plan in a way that feels comfortable and manageable. Details can be found on Experience and Pricing.
